Regain Your Confidence in Smiling
When you’ve lost one or more teeth, replacing them should be a priority. Besides improving your smile’s appearance, replacing lost teeth is also vital to restoring your bite’s ability to function properly. For a single lost tooth, or a few lost teeth in a row, we may recommend a custom-designed dental bridge to effectively close the gap in your smile. Dental bridges are crafted from advanced materials to closely mimic your natural, healthy teeth, using precise measurements to ensure a lifelike appearance.
What Are Dental Bridges?
A dental bridge is a fixed appliance that contains an appropriate number of replacement teeth (called pontics) bordered by two dental crowns. The crowns on either side are affixed to the natural teeth on each side of the gap, known as abutment teeth. After the abutment teeth are slightly sculpted in preparation, the crowns can be bonded onto them to secure the dental bridge in place. For a firm, comfortable, and accurate fit, we will measure your teeth, jawbone, and oral structures using digital X-rays and 3D imaging technology. The measurements, and a mold of your teeth, will be sent to a trusted dental lab, where a highly-skilled artisan will use them to create your custom porcelain dental bridge.
Alternatives to Dental Bridges
If you’ve lost more than one tooth, and they are not next to each other, then you may require a partial denture rather than a dental bridge. If you’ve lost a significant amount of teeth one or both dental bridges, then we may suggest complete dentures.
If you prefer a sturdier, more comprehensive replacement for your lost teeth, then you might benefit from supporting your bridge on one or more dental implants. The prosthetic teeth roots can support your bridge without the need for abutment teeth, allowing us to preserve all of your remaining healthy tooth structures.
